Daily Priority Briefing

The Daily Priority Briefing is a routine your Townie AI assistant runs each morning: it sweeps your email, calendar, Slack, and tasks — backward since the last briefing and forward through the day ahead — then sends a short list of the top things that need you, ranked by consequence.

Priority Briefing — Thursday

Thursday: five things, ranked

Your Townie: yourtownie@town.com

Five items made the cut today — the top two are time-boxed.

  1. Chen offer letter: ⚠️ candidate deadline tomorrow
Legal's redline question has sat unanswered since Tuesday and the candidate's deadline is tomorrow. One reply unblocks the offer — this outranks everything else today.

  2. Board pre-read: 📅 portal closes at 3pm
The deck is final in Drive, but the #leadership thread has two unresolved comments you can clear in ten minutes. Yesterday's expense item is gone — you handled it last night.

Ranked by stakes, not volume — and never the same item twice.

How this routine works

Works with

  1. It runs before your day starts
Each morning on your schedule, it sweeps backward over everything since the last briefing and forward over the day ahead.

  2. It reads across your tools
Email, calendar, Slack, and tasks — everything outstanding, weighed by consequence rather than by how loud or recent it is.

  3. You get a tight top-handful
A short ranked briefing of what genuinely moves the needle today, with anything you've already handled or dismissed left off.

Daily Priority Briefing FAQ

What does the Daily Priority Briefing routine do?
It's a routine your Townie AI assistant runs each morning: it sweeps your email, calendar, Slack, and tasks — backward since the last briefing and forward through the coming day — ranks everything by consequence, and sends you a short briefing of the top things to handle. Anything you've already dealt with or dismissed stays off the list.

Is it safe to run on its own?
Yes — it's read-and-summarize only. It reads the accounts you connect and sends the briefing to you; it doesn't reply, change, or send anything else. Read more in our security overview.

How does it decide what makes the list?
By stakes, not volume. A quiet thread blocking an offer letter outranks twenty unread newsletters, and an item you dismissed yesterday doesn't come back this morning. Tell your assistant what 'high stakes' means in your world and the ranking sharpens from there.

Can I get it somewhere other than email?
Yes — inbox is the default, but you can have it land in Slack, or even as audio to listen to on the way in. Say the word in the message on this page and your assistant sets it up that way.
