Overview
Nadia Amari
Recent updates:
- Moved the Nettlebay diligence into Goals after Jonah Kim opened the data room on Monday.
- Noticed she batches founder pitches into Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and preps for board meetings the night before, and wrote both into How she works.
- Retired a note about a payments deal that passed last month, and flagged that Miles Beaumont has not heard back since he made the Nettlebay intro.
Overview
Nadia Amari is a general partner at an early-stage venture fund she co-founded with Sam Whitaker. The fund writes first checks into B2B software and is deploying its second fund: eighteen portfolio companies, most of them at seed, every one laid out in Projects. She is half of a two-partner team, so she carries most of the fund’s operating layer: the deal flow, the diligence, the LP letters, and the board seats. Her longest-standing LP relationship is Miles Beaumont, whose family office anchored both funds.
Nothing about the fund lives in one place. The pipeline is in the CRM, the context is in her inbox and her texts, and the decisions happen in calls she takes back to back. This page holds the part that used to live only in her head.
How She Works
Nadia takes founder pitches on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and keeps her mornings for diligence and the portfolio. Meeting prep happens the night before, because the day of is always back to back. Every meeting ends with the notes logged against the right company, and she reviews each entry before it lands in the CRM, because she answers for those records. The deals in Projects are built around that discipline. She writes to founders the way she talks: warm, direct, and honest about where the fund stands. Every pass note is written personally, and every draft waits for her review before it sends.
Goals
- Close the Nettlebay decision inside three weeks, with the customer calls done and the cohort data in hand before the next partner sync with Sam Whitaker.
- Get the fund’s knowledge out of her head and into one place, so “what was the company we diligenced two months ago” is a lookup rather than an afternoon.
- Keep every LP warm between letters, starting with the annual meeting Miles Beaumont is hosting this quarter.
Projects
- Nettlebay is in diligence with Jonah Kim. The data room is open, the customer calls are being scheduled, and the deal memo is due before the partner sync.
- At Slatebrook, Anika Rao is weighing a bridge before the Series A, and the board meets this week to talk through the options.
- Seventeen further portfolio companies are tracked here, along with the pipeline of open deals and the letter that goes to LPs each quarter.

Draft in My Voice
- Re: Bridge options Draft
- Anika Rao Can we talk through the bridge options this week?
- Sam Whitaker I can join Thursday from 2.
Hi Anika, Thursday works. I've held 2–3pm so Sam can join, and I'll send over our current thinking on the bridge before we talk. If it would help, I can also make an intro to the fund that led your seed round. Happy to either way. I'll bring the numbers we walked through at the last board meeting. Talk Thursday, Nadia
Claus is drafting in your voice. The reply sounds like you on the first try. Your Townie reads the thread and drafts the response the way you write, without you teaching it a thing. Every draft waits for your okay, because your name is on it.
